DALLAS-FORT WORTH, Texas – Hospitio Consulting and Services, the global airline and hospitality industry consulting firm, today announced that industry veteran John E. Powell will be joining its Dallas-based team.
“John’s three-decade record of excellence includes significant leadership and innovation roles at PROS, United Airlines, and Continental Airlines,” said Hospitio Chief Operating Officer Christian Fleischer. “John has been responsible for industry ‘firsts’ and recognized for his strategic and operational expertise. We are delighted to welcome him to the Hospitio team.”
Powell’s career spans airline revenue management, alliances, loyalty programs, technology implementation, and corporate sales.
He joins Hospitio from Houston-based PROS, where, as a consulting manager, he provided change management guidance to global airlines implementing revenue management software systems and created training programs. At United and Continental, Powell led software solutions, marketing and sales teams.
Among his achievements was development of Continental’s first website and the industry’s first interactive web tool.
During his tenures at United Airlines and Continental Airlines, Powell also garnered the first Star Alliance CEO Award for Innovation and received a lifetime achievement award from the Interline Sales and Marketing Conference.
His contributions to the airline industry also encompass safety, regulatory compliance, and corporate development. A graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Powell also holds a multi-engine pilot’s license.
